A retrospective property valuation is a common form of valuation where a valuer finds the value of a property as it was at any date in the past. This date could be a few months back or even years in the past. There is no limit as long as there is enough data for the property valuer to base their calculations on.
Many retrospective property valuations are completed entirely from a desktop computer with the use of professional apps such as RP data. Our property valuers may supplement this with an inspection of the property or with photos of the property from the time the valuation is set. This is true for almost any retrospective valuation.

- Deceased Estate Valuation With a deceased estate, the valuation will need to be accurate to the date of death to prove the value of the estate and ensure the assets are divided correctly amongst the beneficiaries.
- Property Settlement Valuation For a fair division or transfer of property, a valuation for settlement purposes will need to be accurate to the date of the separation. Many of these cases take place months after the separation and so a retrospective valuation of the property is required.
